The Multiverse Gift Box was released in November 1996. Featuring a mix of boosters from different sets in different languages, it was the first box to emphasize the international aspect of Magic. Additionally it offered a unique possibility to have a look at a future Magic set three months before it was released. Art was cropped on the 10 cards, affecting more or less some of them. This was the first time that Magic: The Gathering cards were sold in a product before their official release.
